Wain Homes - What are they like?

Might seem a bit of a strange concern but me and my partner were looking at a house built by wain homes. we liked it, were quite interested but then another resident on the site told us that they treat their staff really badly, people were sacked for virtually nothing and had no right to appeal or anything. I know you shouldnt believe everything u hear but the person gave a lot of details about it (it would be unfair for me to give them all here in case there's some legal case going on) and were disgusted on their behalf to the point that she told me she wished she hadnt spent her money with them!
We both really dont want to give our hard-earned money to a company that behaves in this way as both of us believe people should be treated with respect at work. As I say, it may seem a strange concern for someone buying a house but sometimes the only voice you have is your wallet!
What I want to know is whether this is a one off or what this company is like? Would appreciate any feedback from you!

Which division of Wainhomes? There are 3 to my knowledge. TBH it sounds like gossip and like you say, don't believe everything you hear. It may be that the neighbours friend/cousin/sister likes the look of the house and is trying to put you off.
There are employment laws to stop people being sacked for "no reason".
Hope this helps and good luck on buying your new home.0 -

But she still lives in one of their properties. For all you know she / her OH / child / friend could be a disgruntled ex-employee who is trying to damage the company's reputation. Did you ask her what the builder is like as an employer? Or did she just decide to come along and tell you?
Employment law gives employees the right to a disciplinary hearing and appeal. If they don't get that then they can go to tribunal.
If this is the house you want then to be frank you should put an offer in. Not buying it, even if you tell them why, is not going to change the way the company operates unless you spend your life ensuring no one else buys that house ever (or any other house of theirs) because you have heard one person's gossip that they are a bad employer.0
