Wii @ Game (merged)

GAME store in Lakeside Thurrock (the store on 1st floor not second), will have Nintendo Wii on sale tomorrow morning (19th Dec) at 9:00am.
Stocks are limited and it is only available to collect.
It has to be bought in a pricey pack though - 500 quid!

For this you get Wii, 7 games titles, extra controller, memory card and accessories.

I suppose anyone who didn't want everything that comes in pack could ebay the rest. I've probably spent that on accessories and games (including console) anyway, so its not so bad if they are games you were going to get anyway.

you can probably tell them that they cant force you to buy the bundle and just get the console from them. just dont give up.

They don't have to sell you anything at all. I'd be wary trying this approach, as you could end up with nothing. If you're going to try for the console on its own, ask politely. If they say no, there's not an awful lot you can do about it.

they did this with 360 consoles, most stores will give the console itself if you just ask. if not just phone up game customer services and tell them you want a wii without the bundle, they will phone the store and let you have it.

I remember this situation and at the time Game would accept any returned games as long as they were sealed, so people were buying their 360 packs and then walking out of the store and then walking right back in and getting the money back for the games, however if you're going to try this ensure that Game still run this policy.

100% correct!

Better still, 'did you get points on your game card for the purchase?' 'eh nope!'

I took my game card in last xmas with 150,000 points on it, the guys jaw hit the floor!

I spoke to the manager (Tim) at Game in the Chequers Centre in Maidstone and he assured me that they will have stock tommorrow (Thursday 21/12/06) on a first come first serve basis, the other Game store in Maidstone may have some also. Good Luck.

this Game store is inside the Chequers Centre in Maidstone, so the first hurdle will be to gain entry into the mall, you could possibly get in early by posing as a shop worker or a cleaner, then you can go and wait outside Game itself, this will give you poll position and the jump on the punters who will be queuing outside the Centre doors. This was my game plan as I was intending to get one myself but fortune smiled on me today and I sourced two Wii's from Toys R Us Chatham purely by good luck and right place right time. The only Problem with my plan was that the Centre security may capture you and sling you out to the back of the line.
