I had Santander Premier account, 5% interest on balances under £2500 for 1 year, free European travel insurance and I got £100 for transferring from previous account.
Now, one year one, the interest on balance stops, they can offer me a change of account type, which means I will lose the European travel insurance, but get 1% on balances under £2500.
I'm on the higher tax bracket, so 1% isn't that spectacular.
I'm not overly keen on 'paying' a monthly fee for my account as most of the perks don't balance it out (imho). Any suggestions?:A

You have many options.
I would:
Find an instant access account paying interest, have a search on here and moneysupermarket.com. I think santanders e-saver pays 3%.
Close down your was-5% account and open another 5% account with santander.
Open a first direct 1st account (£100 for joining) and then apply for their 8% regular saver. I can refer you if you are interested and you'll get a chunk of my £50 referral bonus, subject to meeting the terms and conditions.
Hope that helps.0 -
Lloyds Classic current account with Vantage.
Will pay 3% interest if your balance is between £3000 and £5000 and the account is credited with >1k per month.0
