Hi, I have just been checking my bank statement and I have a 'bank credit' from 'suspense account'. I'm not sure what this is. Can anybody shed any light on this for me please?

A suspense account is a double entry accounting ledger used to assist balancing the books while looking for errors or missing money, etc
In your case, it happens when you pay a cheque in with missing details, bank credit from somewhere else etc.
You will have to contact your bank for the actual narrative.0 -
It sounds as though a credit to your account went astray temporarily, has now been found and credited to your account. Think of it as a pigeon hole to put money that doesn't have an obvious destination.0

Thanks for the replies. I am going to ring the bank in the morning to find out where it's from. Hopefully it's mine to keep, if not I'd rather know sooner rather than later.Mammy to 3 gorgeous children.0

May also have been a refund onto an old (cancelled) card or onto a card for an account that you have closed.0
