Not so. Quidco will give you £20 for a dual fuel/£10 for an electricity switch to EDF.
It's not the cashback sites that determine the amount, it's the merchants. If they don't want to do the deal, then the cashback sites can't pay you.
Rate tarting has put an end to the days of £100 utility cashbacks.
Edit: if anyone's puzzled, the OP has now edited their post to remove the suggestion that no cashbacks are available with EDF.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

I did put the reason why I edited my post.
So, to leave Eon for EDF, frying pan into the fire, for the sake of saving £155 in 20 months if I change to Eon's saveonline 7 when fixonline8 ends on Friday0 -

The problem is you don't know how much you will save by fixing until 2014 as none of us on here has that elusive crystal ball. Also you are not comparing like for like. The Eon saveonline7 is a variable tariff and likely to change if/when prices go up. The EDF one IS fixed so at least you know what the prices are until 2014.
Personally I've just moved to the EDF Fixed 2014 from Eon Saveonline as it worked out cheaper for me than Eon's Fixed tariff. I would have stayed with them otherwise.0 -
I'm taking a chance and staying on a variable rate tarrif.
As oil prices have started to dip I reckon utility prices might come down as they are sometime correlated.
I will review my decision in a couple of months.
Staying with Eon at the moment.0 -
I`ve just decided to stay with SP on a variable rate because the premium for fixing was too high IMO.
Report in papers yesterday suggest the next move for prices is downwards.
Also remember the big 6 are currently under investigation from Ofgem who will report next year.
SP have already whacked up their prices and the others will follow shortly.
They whack them up now 20% and after the winter, if oil keeps falling, then shout about a cut of about 4% to make them look good for Ofgem.0 -

Me too. A bit of a gamble but it usually pays off :beer:0 -

Which still means a rise of 16% over the year so a 14% premium to fix now doesnt look so bad (in the OP's case)Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

The point I was making is that they put up the prices massively but they reduce them very little whilst making a big headline grabbing thing about it.
I`ve no idea if they`ll only go up 20% or if in fact they ever will reduce them.
SP said 10/19% but if you read the thread about their increase most posters were quoting rises of up to 50% depending on tariff and usage.0
