I have been unable to find the button which enables me to print in black only.
I have an Epson CX3650 and have looked at the Printer Preferences Page but cannot find Ink.
Can anyone help?
Thank you.

Change your document to black only, then print it.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

It'll vary depending on program/printer driver, but it will be a variation on the following...
File>Print
Select "Properties"
Select the "Advanced" tab
Select "Greyscale"I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.
But, if the white runs out, I'll drink the red.0 -
With mine, it is printer preferences, advanced, greyscale
Some printers still use colour inks when set to greyscale or black only0 -
Yes set to black but still using colour. Very annoying as the black is full and colours low so I will need to buy colours before it stops printing!0

If you do not need to print in colour, do you use compatibles?

You can either use a full set of compatibles or just the colours with a genuine Epson for the black0 -

Santer I do use compatibles.
Do youmean I could put black in allof the 4?0 -
What brilliant links but please explain what connection printing in black has to compatibles(not very techi)0

No, the printer would not recognise the black ink in a colour cartridge position
I was thinking that if you do not need colour then you could use colour compatibles, but if you use them already that's fine
Haven't used these but the feedback rating seem OK and they have 27ml of ink which is good for a compatible

You could try 'print to PDF' with something like this first, selecting grayscale. http://www.bullzip.com/products/pdf/info.php
You could the print the grayscale pdf file with your regular printer.604!0
