Thread that was started by Di, long one i know but it may help.
You have to phone FSCS who will deal with this for you.0 -
Hi good evening i had a picture finance loan in 2007 we also paid ours off ,picture finance had gone into administration therefore we had to go through the FSCS ,we managed to get nearly £10,000 back ,would you not have any bank statements if you paid them direct debit there might be a reference on there:cool:
Hi thx for yr reply, i have a couple of old bank statements but there is no ref number, just the beneficiary - picture financial. I dont hold out much hope as i have no actual paperwork breakdown or anything0 -
Hi there, was your loan on the 14th of january 05 or before?.
If it was 14th jan or after then ring the FSCS and give them as much info as you can address, dob etc and they may be able to find you.
If it was before 14th january then the FSCS cannot help you with this, you will need to go for the insurer.
If this is the case, then ring FSCS and ask who the insurer was for picture,as if you put a claim in and the insurer says no,then you can get help from FOS.
Did you pay this loan by direct debit? if you did then ask your bank for the details for this loan, from the DD.0 -
Hi there
Sorry for the delay.
First of all to try to track down loan account numbers, this should be pretty simple.
The bank where your loan repayments for the loan were debited from will hold these details, so first of all if you bank online this should allow you to go back to about 2002, the loan account number is normally shown next to the monthly repayment of the loan, failing that call into the bank who should be able to search these details for you.
In regards of the paperwork, with the broker no longer active, the lender of the loan will provide these details of your data for you.
A Subject Access Request (SAR) letter template below you can use if you want to, and tweak if required, enclose £10 cheque or postal order, they have 40 calendar days to comply.

Its the lender and not the broker that will provide the main of the documentation anyway, and they should also hold details of the broker. Even though the broker is the one responsible for the mis selling.
I would contact the Financial compensation scheme (FSCS) and as long as they are listed and your eligible you can make a claim through these, where a claim form (a little different from the reclaim questionnaire) will be sent or maybe emailed, or can be downloaded to what I am aware of from the FSCS website, but do contact them first on details below, good luck.
