It sounds your most likely logged in under your kids accounts or have a internet safety programme installed, login in to your pc via administrator or just uninstall the software thats stopping you browsing.

Don`t know if this will work but worth a try.
    Go to start----control panel
user accounts----create an account and when it asks whether "standard or administrator" click administrator.

No doubt others will offer advice.

    what does?

there's probably something else on there that will explain which password it needs. How does it tell it you? does a box pop up telling you? does the internet explorer screen just go blank with it in the middle etc etc.

There's a good chance there's some software on there that's telling you that you need the password, so if there's a pop up box it might have something on it that tells us what the package is.

Or it could just be that you've stuck a BT CD in and loaded the software but don't actually have an account to connect to the internet and it's that, that is asking you for a password.
