    Hi

I am extremely pleased to see that obfuscation when obfuscation is intended has finally been recognised and the term may therefore be used within 'context' in the future. Now, considering that a little progress has been made along the 'learning curve', it may now be a really good time to learn the relevance of the term 'context' itself before moving the debate forwards to it's logical conclusion, that being 'sense' as opposed to 'wrong'.

Anticipating your most intellectual reply as always .... :rotfl:

    Hi

I read the above but simply hear 'Trip trop ....' & therefore must logically consider that having been exposed as "being unable to entertain a thought even without accepting it", unfortunately the sign must finally go up .....

Hiya spgsc531 and Zeupater, might I suggest a compromise.

The subsidy is a little below 50p, the income stream is a little above 50p, different people will have different interpretations of exactly how we each get to ‘a number’, and exactly how that number should be described (income or subsidy). But outside of the 4 of us, nobody really cares.

Given that 4 members represent an almost negligible proportion of MSE members and readers, maybe we should just chalk this all down to ‘lost in translation’, and accept a stalemate, before we butt-heads in ever decreasing, self-destructive circles.

cardew clearly said subsidy, there is no ambiguity. Clearly the figure used is wrong, everyone can see that. It's probably pretty clear why he put a wrong number too. It's pretty obvious from previous times that cardew won't admit to being wrong.

It's amazing the extraordinary time and effort zeupater has expended to avoid just admitting the figure is wrong. The only logical reason that he also is not able to just admit when he is wrong.

As long as he keeps obfuscating, I will keep responding with the simple question "why won't you just admit the figure is wrong?".

And the rest of us will hope that one of you realises how bored we're all getting with something so trivial.

    Hi M

... And as previously posted, that's exactly my sentiment - however, I've already exited the exchange having considered that it's pretty-near impossible to hold a debate with one so intent on basic serial-trolling based on a single, and so obviously flawed, point of reference. Having attempted a number of alternative approaches to dissect and contextualise the issue so that it can be analysed from different positions all that has been offered in exchange is sub-infantile repetition, an approach which has been employed on numerous previous occasions on these boards .... This unfortunately leads me to conclude that the profile in question simply posts for 'effect' motivated by the anticipation of what is believed to be seen as a personal 'win' in a public arena, evidenced by the obsessive belief in any opposing view being 'wrong', despite any, and all, logical positions forwarded to the contrary ...

In my book the old adage 'it's not whether you win or lose its how you play that game that matters' applies, therefore whether others directly agree with anything posted, or not, causes no pleasure, anxiety or worry, I simply trust that any third parties are encouraged to entertain a thought and consider possible logical alternatives when seeking the truth ....

    Hi

Yes, but never noticed an overvoltage supply problem with the inverter yet ....

We had a localised HV network problem recently which resulted in a supply voltage which I observed as varying between something like 160V and 185V, causing all sorts of havoc in the area for a while, including dropping our generation for a few hours due to out-of-specification grid conditions ... when the issue was fixed the voltage was very high for a while, somewhere around 252V, before being throttled back a little by someone, somewhere. We always experience high(ish) voltages as we're pretty close to a substation (about 1km of overhead cable before transformer then local underground supply), but the line goes way out into the countryside feeding farms and a number of villages & hamlets. Normal voltage here is somewhere in the mid/high 240's depending on time of day.
