On average, it does not pay to have extended warrenties.

Nope, but it does if you can negotiate it being provided by your supplier for free as a condition of ordering!

I do not like haggling; it,s so "un-british" and on a practical note; especially if you go to town (mainly whilst on holiday) with a long shopping list; haggling adds a lot of time to the task.

dunno why you have your signature quoting azimuth as you do

it has been pointed out to you, it's incorrect.

and why on earth are you referencing True north and not Magnetic north?

I quote azimuth as I do, because it is one way of quoting it. It is not incorrect, just different to the way some quote it. There can be no doubt (with my quote) of what direction my panels are orientated. I note that you do not risk confusion by saying that yours are at Zero Degrees.
I use True North because it is unvarying and so the azimuth I quote will be true for all time - magnetic north does vary.

  • panel prices havent come down aa `little bit` - its near 50% in 1 year , so if your still being quoted 10k or more for a 4kw install they are laughing all the way to the bank!

geodetic true north, or astronomical true north? :D

  • My next door neighbour has just got approval to have the "Rent a Roof" from "ThinkGreen Earth".
The surveyor told her that, in about a year, customers would have the option to install an extra meter, showing "spare kw" sent to the grid. These would be noted as credits and you could then use them when required (at night etc.) and thus not be paying the normal 12p a kw at such times. I understand that some other countries already use this system.
No doubt our power companies will oppose it!

Seems unlikely, first I've heard of it. Effectively the same as a backwards running meter.
