Gardening tools for disabled

Since my mobility problems I've had the garden re-vamped with raised beds and am looking to get some extending gardening tools for the odd bit of weeding.
I'm also looking for a leaf vaccum.........autumn is a nightmare when the trees start to shed and this time of the year theres a problem with my climbing roses that get a battering from the wind and rain.
I've a chap who comes once a week to keep on top of things but would like to be able to ''hoover up'' the petals on my own. Most of the ones I've seen look as if they need to be carried or pushed (too heavy for me) or I'd have to bend which I can't do.
They also dont come cheap.
Anyone come across anything reasonable priced and lightweight enough ?
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Do you have a Disabled Living Foundation near you? You can make an appointment to go in to see them and test out different types of equipment. I don't know if this includes gardening tools, but it might be worth asking.

If you don't live near a DLF, they will usually respond to a phone request for information. I needed information and advice on feeding utensils for my son and they sent out catalogues and reviews.

These people -- a charity -- recommend tools etc. but don't, I think, sell them.

kingfisherblue - thanks for the link. I'll check that one out.

clemmatis - thanks -I've looked at the carryongardening site.........very useful but couldn't find what I'm after

Had the Kleeneze catalogue today and they have a long handled thing for weeding that looks useful and at £12 its affordable rather than getting a set of extendable tools for £30, some I might never use.

Leaf Vaccum is really the thing at the moment -can be dodgy walking round the garden after we've had rain on falled leaves or petals.
