Menorca for 2 nights

Hi,
I've just booked to fly to Menorca Friday evening and back Sunday morning. I have never been before and was after some recommendations for resorts. Closer to the airport the better really as it is such a short stay.
It is just myself and my wife going for a chilled out weekend away from the kids. I'm 33 and she is 29 so we don't want anywhere too quiet, as long as it has some bars and restaurants but most importantly within walking distance to the beach.
Thanks for your time.

I recently stayed in Cala'n Porter -very quiet resort but gorgeous beach. Was about a 10-15 taxi ride from airport so perfect for short break. The hotel we stayed at was Sa Barrera, absolutely brilliant for the price we paid and we were the only ones by the pool most days =D0

Not really giving yourself much tme, are you. If you get there late friday night (hopefully without any delays), and returning back early sunday morning (with your check-in and transfer to the airport).
Like above, to maximise your time, stay not too far from the airport, and pre-book your hotel (as you dont wanna waste your time when you get there looking for accommodation). Maybe Binebeca, or Punta Prima, just south of the airport.
Have a great, albeit short, break away..........

You could always get a bus out to the beach, buses are frequent , usually air conditioned coaches so better travel than england!
palma citys great for a short break as you dont want to waste 2 hours each way on a transfer for such a short space of time.***MSE...My.Special.Escape***0 -

Excuse my ignorance (and my 20+ years in travel), but isn't Palma City on a different island?
lol
