"Garden land" rent

I currently rent an area of land close to my house in Cornwall which is classed as "garden land" and which I use to grow vegetables. The owner of the land has reviewed our rental agreement and is trying to treble the rent.

I'd like to ask anyone else who rents "garden land" to share how much they pay (either per square metre or £xx for an xx sized plot) so I can go back and negotiate a more reasonable rate. I know there will be variables which affect the amount of rent (location, size, condition of land...) but I'm just trying to gauge ball-parkish figures

Thanks in advance
n.

Depends what you currently pay and when the last price increase was.

Going by allotment prices, Council plots currently about £20 are going upto approx £80 over the next couple of years.

I read on here some people on private allotments are paying £400 a year.
