Hello
is it true that the 'first generation' Iphones 4 were followed by later batches that had fixes to them? If so and Im looking to buy a used Iphone 4, how would I know if it's part of one of the first batches or not?
thanks

You probably wouldn't know, plus specifically what fixes?
The antenna fix is the major bug with the iphone 4 and it was never fixed.. unless you took the free "cover":exclamatiTo the internet.. I need to complain about something!0 -
apparently...
1 - Antena Issue
2- Yellow Spot
3- Sensor Issue
4- Yellow Tinted Camera Issue
5- Green Blob in the camera0 -
You can tell by the serial number of the phone when it was made and where, it is explained here
http://www.trickyways.com/2010/05/how-to-check-iphone-manufacture-date/
that site only explains the 3,4 and 5th digits, digits 1 and 2 are used to tell where the phone was made and in which factory, if these 2 digits are 5K then its a refurbished model:beer:0 -
yes I read that as well but I was not asking how to find out year of production but rather how do I know which production is the second batch0

to be honest i think the batches is all an urban myth really, my OH iphone was manufactured 6 weeks ago and still has the antenna issue so if they were going to release hardware fixes you would think that would be priority.
Before you buy the phone, ask for the serial number, put it in the apple website, check if it is still in warranty and when it expires, this will not only tell you when it was first activated but also give you piece of mind that if there is a problem apple will replace it there and then in store with either a brand new one or a refurbished model (that is actually probably better than a new one as it goes through every check possible):beer:0
