MFI sale looming...beware....

Options
http://www.mfi.co.uk

A bit cheeky this, I've been meaning to get some extra rimini cabinets to finish off our half completed kitchen, and had them in my basket on the MFI site for some time now. However I noticed that the price had gone up by around 50% several weeks ago.

Now I see that they are having a 50% off sale, which means I actually get them at the original price they were for most of last year. Kinda pointless really. Anyone going overdrawn to take advantage of this sale should hold on, I believe at the end of January they change it to 70% off, and they always extend their sales by a few extra weeks anyway. So take no notice of any cut off dates. I've been stung by this in the past with MFI.

On a similar note, anyone successfully managed to buy anything from Howdens without a trade account?

I think its very hard to get anything from Howdens unless your trade, or you know someone whos trade.

MFI do some good reductions, I have bought a fair bit over the years in thier sales, and I have always been happy with my goods.

Keep an eye for a B&Q sale for me, as I am looking out for wooden flooring, I missed the last sale by a few days, and all the wooden flooring had sold out in a couple of days.
  • We found a nice chunky table and four chairs in MFI recently - £167 in store :j
Checked their website and it was on offer for £95 :T

Didn't buy it as the house sale was still in progress.

After we'd exchanged we checked online again with a view to buying the table but it had disappeared!

Visited another store recently and found it - approx £250 :(
Had a bit of a moan with the staff and they knocked off £100! :T :T
Its not the £95 a good MSE should have haggled for but we're still pleased as its less than the original price! ;)
They also told us that if it was cheaper in their Boxing Day sale they'd refund the difference :T

We went to look at a kitchen at MFI just before christmas 2000 and priced it up. They told us that the boxing day sale would be cheaper and that they would prefer to take our order then as it would be cheaper for us. They even guaranteed that the prices would not be more.

Sure enough they were cheaper. We placed the order for a January delivery.

mfi always has a sale on, they usually end on a fri and new one starts on the monday. Always look at the bottom line, forget about how its dressed up before hand, free offer etc there are no free lunches and you just need to look at the final figure. That being said mfi are ok but the quality of goods is far from stunning, there are equal quality of kitchens out there for less money and much better kitchens out there for similar money.
