Refund on a skirt - poor quality

Hiya.
I bought a skirt about 6 weeks ago from Asda. It was about £14, and was a floor length tiered skirt.
I bought it for a job interview, and on the morning of the interview, I put the skirt on, sat down, and heard a snapping noise. I had a look, and saw that the stitching had come apart. I quickly stitched it up and left.
Every time I have worn this skirt, I'm finding new holes in it, and I'm fed up of stitching it back together.
I keep bringing it with me whenever I go shopping, but they haven't had my size in since.
However, having now spoken to my step-mom, she said that her mom has 4 skirts, in the same style, from an online retailer, and has had the same issue, so it seems to be a design flaw.
Would I be able to get either a refund or an exchange even though it's been more than 28 days? I'm not fussed if I can only get an exchange, as I buy a lot of kids clothes from there anyway.

  • If the skirt is faulty then yes, you should be entitled to a refund, but this right ended at the point that you repaired it.
You can ask it they will refund or exchange but they may well refuse now.
