Withdrawing cash in Mexico

I used a Nationwide and a Barclays debit card and both worked without issue. I did tell them I was going on the online banking.

Thanks, that's really helpful to know. I may order some to collect at Gatwick then if there is a problem at Cancun airport, then at least I have some local currency.

Hi, I tried the hotel ATM, one in Playa del Carmen and the Santander one at Cancun airport, none of them worked despite me telling Lloyds I would be in Mexico and having already used it in the shops there. Have a lovely holiday.

Hi,
I've just ordered our pesos from Travelex, we'll collect at Gatwick on Friday afternoon when we bag drop. I'm a worrier and I was concerned that we wouldn't find a working ATM on arrival and I know that after a 10 hour flight, I won't want to be searching for one on the trip to the resort half an hour away.

Hi, Glad you've got your money sorted out. Where in mexico are you staying? We came back on saturday and it was really hotting up.:)

We're staying at the Marina El Cid Resort & Spa in Puerto Morelos, the weather forecast I have on my iphone show lots of rain, but hoping it will change.
What was Cancun airport like? I'm hoping there is a duty free in arrivals where I can buy cigs, do you know if there is & what sort of cost they might be?
