Just as I have 3 PS3s, and several other items listed on eBay, all ending soon, I get an email from PayPal saying my account is limited so I can pretty much do NOTHING because I sold some ebooks a couple of months back with free tv channels that included adult channels - which is against PayPals rules. I called and was told to email in to appeal, within an hour I had a reply saying the hold was permanent...
Anyone got any advice on getting Paypal account back (I use it all the time for so much, I really do need it!) and what I can do with the listings on eBay about not being able to pay with PayPAl (it is too late to remove PayPal as a payment option, as people have bidded etc..)
Thanks..
Hopefully this won't ruin my Christmas!

I can try, but I would really want my PAyPal account back.. I guess I could find someone to let me have the odd payment come into their account, but I used mine regularly for eBay purchases and selling etc..frivolous_fay wrote:I think you might be stuffed

If you emailed to appeal and they said it was a permanent ban, I don't see what more you can do

You could try calling them again I suppose. My TV is broken!

but also the PayPal logo and/or shopping cart.

It is rare, almost impossible to lose a paypal account re a listing problem with ebay, although ebay own paypal , paypal does work independently. It is even rarer to hear of someone having their paypal account taken away, unless for quite serious wrongdoings.
It also both ebay and paypal that have the adult rule, and I am aware of one other person who lost their paypal account due to selling adult items, but that one person I knew was a serious seller, got involved in something that rather spiralled out of control and took the fall when the real owners disappeared. However, even in that instance there were several warnings before the paypal account was finally terminated.
I'm not sure there is anything that can be done now, all i can suggest is that if it is a minor infringement that you appeal again to paypal. However, the paypal ban on adult sites and promotions was actually apparently bought in due to public pressure after paypal began to get little bit of a reputaion about 6 years ago for being 'adult friendly' and when they got more involved with ebay they bowed to pressure to get rid of that negative image.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Once you're banned, you're banned. Opening another account will just make matters worse.
