Natwest adgold account

I upgraded to this adgold account with natwest a month a go. I'm not sure I really need it though. I didn't have phone insurance or contents insurance and I was told that if I upgraded I could get phone insurance free with it even though I've never bothered with it before and I'd get a discount on contents insuance.
I thought I would use the gold hotels also but after registering I still can't find a link to search the hotels available.
I am now paying over£23 extra a month than before. £12.95 for the account £10.60 for contents insurance. I don't think it's worth having as I dint need these things before now.
Should I get rid of it?
I looked at my contents though and there is an admin fee of over £20 to cancel it and £15 to amend it!!!! Bloody rip off

I got a gold account with Natwest, because they were offering 1% off loans/credit card APRs with it.

The travel insurance is very good as well, but unless you are going away several times a year, you could still get the same for much cheaper.

The mobile phone insurance is also decent enough.

Is it worth it? well depends very much on whether you are going to use the features/benefits it gives.
  • Do you know how to see the Gold hotels List cus when I log in all I can see is a book here now with a phone number. No list!

    try http://advantagebenefits.natwest.com/

Maybe you need to go through and 'book now' on the site that you are on - don't actualy book but it should allow you to see what hotels you could book. I don't know of a list as I think that they change fairly regularly.

You would have had a discount on the home insurance as you say. Ultimately if it's not value for you then you're perfectly entitled to downgrade it. Contents insurance may well be better buy in your case.

The thing is with insurance is that most of us hate paying for it.... until you actually need to claim when you realise that taking it out was the best thing you ever did.

    What this person said. 100%.
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂

I have the RBS version. I think its good value for money. I use the mobile phone insurance and the travel insurance. I also book tickets through the ticket booking service and get 25% cashback on any tickets booked through ticketmaster!! Its saved me more than the cost of the royalties gold for a year.

The ticket cashback is actually pretty lucrative. There are customers who easily make back the cost from this alone.

How do you do this? I buy loads of tickets for events through ticket master.

Can membership services with your account details handy. You can do it online also but I've never done that.

You pay the 'normal' price including booking fees etc but you get 25% paid back into your account within a few days.
