Forgot to say... my dad does this with his pressies to me. "Not paying good money to waste it" is his way :rotfl: He uses magazines and newspapers in the run up to xmas day, gives himself bonus points if he finds a page with an advert for a xmas tree or something as it's almost proper paper then :rotfl: I'm following suit in return, only things I wrap in regular paper are things for friends and the one or two items I didn't want him to see when I carried them home!
    :rotfl:
  • Hi I am so pleased, there are some of you out there think the same way as us and that wrapping up pressies in paper was in principle a good idea.

I might reuse othere papers as well as newspaper next year?

One of the posting was worried people might think them stingy rather than trying to do their bit? as this is the first year we have done it, we have received positive repsonses from most recipients, my father in law whinged (but then he does:mad: ) so we told him we wouldn't wrap a present in newspaper for him next year, he wont get one and we will donate that money too, it quietened him down after that, lol.

our local council does not recycle wrapping paper so our reasoning behind the newspaper has to be a good thing in the long run?

RE the posting on Christmas cards, my wife is a crafty type person so she makes her own cards and recycles the ones we get by cutting out the front pictures and make a new card with other things crafty too.

thanks for your responses, this will help when we do the same again next year and in years to come, and you never know, other members of our families might just follow suit?
