In the long run this works out more expensive as the Terms and Conditions mention an annual maintenance fee.
Obviously may still help with any airline charges if you save >£4.95/yr0 -
Yep , was thinking just for airline charges0

There are pre paid cards you can use without having to pay any charges
e.g.
https://www.neteller.com - this has the facility to create virtual cards for one time use much like the cahoot webcard did until they canned it
https://www.kalixa.com - great for holidays as there is no exchange rate loading just like the halifax clarity car
- apply via topcashback http://www.topcashback.co.uk/kalixa-prepaid-mastercard/ & you make £2 profit after paying the £5 application fee0 -
If you are an O2 mobile customer you can apply for a load and go card for free, you can top it up (minimum £5) by debit card or at PP outlets for free. Usually you can use it anywhere there is a visa logo and there are no transaction charges unless there is a currency exchange. Hope this post was helpful to someone0

BUT is it a scam? I tried to apply online. I completed my details and clicked on 'Next' (or whatever) to pay and got this message:Your account is currently suspended. You can find further information about the next steps on our website.
I couldn't find anything relevant on the website so I tried to send an e-mail from the website. Despite several attempts, it could not be sent.
I then called the number shown on the website. As was to be expected, I got the 'all our operators etc' message with the suggestion that I send them a message online. Er, yes please.
Then came the message 'we can't take your call, please try later'.
So 0/3 so far. In the meantime, they have my details including name, address, phone number, e-mail address ...
I'm not happy.0
