New Kitchen. Painted Doors and dog?

Options
I think I already know the answer to this, but I would appreciate your comments.
I've been wishing for a new kitchen for ages but get stuck at this decision. I really like the look of the painted units from various suppliers. The problem is the dog. Medium sized but very active, and often wet and muddy. Would it be completely stupid to get units painted in something like the magazines say is 'farrow and ball' something or other. I've looked at the units in b n q that are cream, and look at the kick board for cleaning marks. They are always filthy across the grain. I'm not a clean freak by any means, but what would be the most suitable? The kitchen is fairly dark so I was hoping for something pale. House was built in 1929 so something fairly traditional rather than space age would probably be best. We keep the dog out of some areas (sometimes) but the kitchen is his as much as ours.
