cleaning ceramic hob

Options
My ceramic hob is very very dirty :( . I don't mean it just needs a good clean, because I have tried using microfibre cloths and some citrus orange cleaner which is meant for ceramic hobs, but there are rims round each element of really dried on stuff. If I scratch with my nail I can get it to come off a little but obviously this isn't practical. Can anyone suggest how to clean my hob
Thanks

  • i use hob cleaner from morrisons in and orange bottle but not citrus don't use bicarb as this scratches the surface try a plastic scourer as this is gentle using circular movements.

i use a ceramic hob accessory kit which i bought at lakeland plastics for around £7 although i have seen them elsewhere and sometimes with less spares for less money,
it inlcudes a scraper with (3) spare blades - they are razor type blades and i use them regularly and have not had any problems, and a conditioning cloth.

basically it is a safe way of physically removing the muck- made by homecare products

Use a glass scraper, these cost about £1. you can get them from Poundland.
    or Wilkinsons

Astonish hob cleaner is very good. Stardrops might do the trick too - go onto the Old Style board and you'll find a long thread there about Stardrops. Might be worth asking for this thread to be moved onto there; loads of people will come up with weird & wonderful instructions.

I use a scraper and then wipe all the gunge up with kitchen roll and wipe with damp microfibre cloth and mine sparkles....
