Egypt visa requirements

Hi,

I've just booked a holiday to Hurghada next March. I have seen in this forum that a visa is required when visiting Egypt.

Do I need to apply to the Egyptian embassy in London or can I obtain one upon arrival at Hurghada airport?

Any information is appreciated.

you can get your visa at Hurghada airport for IIRC £10. Easy as pie.thumbsup.gif

  • I know that in some areas of Egypt you only require a visa if you are planning to travel about. For example on a recent trip to Taba we were told by the rep to fill out a form with 'Sinai only' to indicate we were staying within the Sinai area. If you are planning a trip which takes you into another area you can purchase the visa in the airport (as the above reply) which I think costs about £10. If you are on a package holiday the rep will tell you what to do, if not be careful that the officials don't persuade you to part with your hard earned for no reason
  • Hi Franlet,

Last time we went to Egypt we took the Nyle cruise and went from Cairo to Hurghada among other places. Were adviced by the agency (in Cairo) to get visa from Egyptian consulate in London.

I wish you a good time in Hurghada :) It was a lovely place and it still bring pleasant memories for us (went there in 2003). Have fun :)
