Virgin Media Contracts

Hi
I have to move out of my house (the rent increased) and I am not moving into another property as I am moving abroad to get work. I have a contract with Virgin Media that is valid for a year and they are going to charge me for the remainder of my contract. This isn't good but what really gets my goat is that they have increased their charges to me twice since my contract began. How can I be tied into a contract, and yet Virgin are not to a price?
Regards
Gin

With regards to price increases, the contract stipulates you will be notified of the increase and can cancel that particular aspect of the package if you are not happy with the increase so long as you notify them within 30 days.
If you was notified of the increase recently it may be worth you taking advantage of this to minimise the cost.
(atleast this is what I read somewhere)0 -
indeed - also look to drop your package down to the lowest possible allowed before you are charged the remainder of the contract - they will base it on your existing package unless you advise them otherwise...0

I believe it is standard practice for VM to drop your package to the lowest available (cheapest BB, cheapest TV and cheapest phone) until the contract runs it course.0
