Animal cruelty

Options
How do you cope with the awful stories about animal cruelty.

I'm making myself ill with worry about animal experiments, puppy farms dog fighting general pet abuse, dogs getting skined alive for fur etc etc .

Everytime I see or hear something else I'm in tears and I can't stop thinking about it.

Any advice please?

Chrissy

Sounds like you need to have a talk with your doctor if you're becoming ill.

how do you mean? Are you obsessive over it, do you research it etc?
The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!

It sounds like you are a really kind and compassionate person. Rather than torment yourself by looking at all the cruelty around why not do something to help. Maybe some volunteering at an animal charity or fund raising for instance. You will know then that you are doing something positive and worthwhile. To be considerate and empathetic of suffering in others is a good quality to have. :A

I support lots of animal charities and so get sent lots of upsetting literature.
Its just everytime I pick up a paper I seem to read yet another sad /cruel event.
I'm upset about the 2 police dogs which have just died and in the Daily Mail supplement on Sunday Deborah Meedan ( Dragons Den) said one of the saddests things that that she had ever seen and which had impacted on her life was a video which was sent to her showing a dog being skinned alive for its fur. I can't stop thinking abot it.
We have a beautful dog called Molly who we got from a rescue centre and Molly has a fantastic life with us.
I'm going to have a stall in August at the Dogs Trust rehoming Centre near Leeds and I'm selling homemade bookmarks and gift tags and profits are for the Dogs Trust, so I know I do my bit to help.
Its just that I can't block out out the misery caused to animals.
My husband tells me I can't take the weight of the world on my shoulders, but I can't help how I feel.

I support lots of charities - Dogs Trust, Various animal sanctuaries, horses and pony charities, animal welfare in general.

But I cant do much in terms of the scale of cruelty - eg - bears , badgers, hens, pig factory farming - it goes on and on!

    A very sad Chrissy
