D Day looming EON Fix on line 8

• ive just switched to npower go fix 6 as they was my cheapests. £70 a month direct debit duel fuel which is what im paying roughly now so im happy. plus cashback from quidco
• I'm off to EDF and still waiting for switching date. Unfortunately I will be one of many being hit hard by EON's tarriff policy of paying 3 x cost for the first 224/669Kwh.

At least EDF have a daily standing charge which is not as big a rip-off.
• Like many I'm also having to change & am looking at Scottish Powers Online Energy Saver 14. This is fixed until August 2012. My bill would go up from £1,017 to £1,206 & as a pensioner a nightmare.

As one of the many needing to change from Eon's fix online 8, which ends on Friday, I've gone for Co-op Energy.
My family's usage is around 4420 KWh electricity and 15270 KWh gas.
With the £50 cashback it's only £16 dearer per year than the best Eon deal [Save online 7] and £25 dearer than the best overall - EDF online saver v10.
But the Co-op have no termination fees, I can get back another approx £26 on dividends, and I like Co-ops - a more ethical way to run businesses.
I also like the clear and simple pricing structure - studying the different Eon deals and trying to compare them has given me a massive headache ;)
Here's hoping it works out well!

I am staying with Eon, I will change to saveonline 7, it is about the best non fixed deal for me.

If I fixed it would cost me £186 a year more, surely prices won't go up that much in a year?

The £1270 already includes the £110 discount for paying by Direct Debit and having paperless bills/online only account.

Fixed Prices
EON Fixed Price v5 £1372 (9% higher then EDF Saver v2 fixed)
EDF Saver v2 £1261
Npower Go Fix 6 £1270
EDF Fixed Price 2014 £1363

If the £1270 is showing due to the amount of your usage on the comparison site and others read as you've indicated above example £1261 EDF you still get the £105 back after 12 direct debits it does not show on the comparison chart calculation as with Atlantic they give one month back into the bank after month 13th Both in the conditions [npower and atlantic] should you stay the course they are bonuses for stayingput

Well time has come to make the decision.

Have decided to stay with EON on EON fixed price 5 for the time being and wait and see what happens when all put their tariffs up. At least their is no cancellation fees.

Submitted my last reading for Fix on Line 8. RIP:cry:

Unfortunately SP's Online Energy Saver 14 is not fixed. It is a variable tariff guaranteed to be at least 2% below the standard tariff. I am currently on OES 13 and thought about swapping to this tariff, but in the end I decided to switch to EDFs fixed saver 2 (2012) as was only £30 more expensive and guarantees not to rise.

Thought about the EDF 2014 fix, but I am a serial switcher and usually grab lots of cashback, so not for me!

Just gave meter readings and requested bill with eon ,and have now signed up to npower fix online 6 which will work out about £180 more per year .There was only 3 cheaper options , cheapest saving £34 and none were fixed .Shame eon never gave us a better tarrif even though I left it till the last day
