Dell XPS 8300 i5&i7/64 bit/1TB/8GB - any advice?

Options
Hi guys

I've seen a few Dell XPS 8000 series desktops for around £470-£560 delivered.

http://outlet.euro.dell.com/Online/SecondaryInventorySearch.aspx?rn=1107&SC=lowToHigh&c=uk&cs=ukdfh1&l=en&s=dfh

e.g.

XPS 8300
Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium (64 BIT)
Intel Core i7-2600 processor(8MB Cache, 3.4GHz)
Hard Drive 1TB Serial ATA II (7200RPM)
6 GB DDR3 SDRAM 1333MHz (4 DIMMs)
16X DVD +/- RW Drive
Back Up Media Not Included

@ £559.21

I need a new PC for my work and was wondering if anyone on the techie forum could advise me on how good or bad, etc, these PC's are.

I mainly do graphic artwork/design, no games or such.

Cheers

  • Do you honestly think 1 hour or so is a reasonable time frame for some knowledgeable replies? Most of those who know the answer will still probably be still in the traffic home from work.........then they will get their dinner....and only after they have consumed it then will they have the time to read your post and reply in detail..........

Ok. Point taken. But I didn't really want a point by point analysis, just a good or bad or possibly pro or con.
