Hi there,
Seem to remember someone having a list of what the different reference codes on letters from the bank mean. I've had one asking me to contact the bank and the code is PR230/RET.
Anyone know what this means???
p.s. Amusingly they've 'been trying to get hold of me', yet I've had no phone calls at all'.

I now have two of those letters
plus 2 calls on my phones
One call was of such poor professionalism that I really should complain It was
:Hello Mr ******** this is your bank calling. Please can you ring (a mobile Number).
I'm currently ignoring the whole lot of them and have been for the last two weeks the date of the first letter.
They do it to me regularly - as well as ask me to ring a mobile No. Yes they are genuine calls believe it or not!
They have also sent the letter thing in the past having made no attempts to contact me despite claiming on the letter they have.
It seems to be related to when I start to move large sums of money around using my account as a holding account between savings groups. I guess it triggers some alert....and they want some of it to stay with lloyds
Once I did ring them back and it was just marketing guff/crap/sales twaddle. The level of ignorance of some aspects of savings accounts seemed to me to be to be quite appaling. I had to explain to them why some savings groups work a 3 day BACS schedule and why others who process the request the following day result in a 4 day BACS transfer delay. Another was amazed when asking me how long sum X would stay in my account for got the answer - approx 2 minutes.....FP in and then FP out.
PS if they REALLY want to get in touch with me over a REALLY urgent matter I suggest
Lloyds
a) leave a proper message explaining why they need to contact me.
b) ask me to ring the lloyds official banking line ASAP and not some blinking mobile0 -
PR230 are marketing letters from the Branch. "We've tried to contact you..."
Sometimes a mobile number is also given to contact them.
When a large sum comes in, a credit alert is trigged and you get flagged up for marketing. Simply opt out of marketing to stop it.0
