Marks and Spencer on line

Tried to order some Xmas stuff on line from M&S on Sunday night (when their site was still saying they would be able to deliver in time for Xmas) Apart from the fact that it took an hour to get through the registration process, I get an e-mail today advising that delivery time for the items ordered will be on or before 2 January 2007:mad:

At least their cancellation process is straightforward.

Boycott M&S anyone? :D

Marks and Spencer's estimated delivery times do not tend to be accurate. I think they just automatically put seven working days, when in fact it could be a lot sooner. I had the same problem, emailed them and got a standard 'seven working days reply', and my delivery arrived later that afternoon!

Bit hit and miss really ... hope you got the things you needed elsewhere x

It gets better - having cancelled the order I get another e-mail confirming the order! Phoned them this morning to be told 'the e-mail was wrong we expect to get all orders out before Christmas if we gave you that message on our website when you ordered'. Now I'm not certain if I should be looking elsewhere or not. I see an emergency trip on Sunday looming.....

They are pretty good at getting things out to you, why not ring them and ask for more details of delivery - my last delivery was by DHL, so once it has been sent you will be able to track the parcel online.

Worst case scenario, if you do not receive the delivery, then why not ask that, as it is their error, your local store compile the items from your order for you, so all you have to do is pick it up and pay?

I am a bit of a Marks and Spencer stalwart, all my family are too, and I have never been let down by them (yet!). I hope it works out for you ... let me know x
