We have solid walls, so no cavity to fill!
The walls are cold to touch during cold weather!

I noticed that my friend's house in Arizona has expanded polystyrene sheets bonded to the outside of all walls, then render coated over the top. You have to be careful not to lean hard on it! I think this was more designed to keep heat out than in.

My thermostat is only marked down to 40 degrees. Normally I set it at 65. I think it would be jolly cold at 15 degrees!
    Some of us use Celsius.:p

I remember going to New York in early January 1996. As we approached Kennedy airport the pilot announced that it was 14 degrees in New York. I had forgotten that the yanks use Fahrenheit and thought “that is warm for January”. It was bloody freezing, about minus 10 degrees C and by 7pm that evening we were snowed in during the worst cold spell on the east coast in about 40 years.
