New house warranty still valid?

We moved into a recently new house (14 months old) and have found a few problems. A neighbour said contact the builder as the house is under a 2 year warranty.
Would this warranty only be valid for the original buyers of the house?
I don't want to fork out for repairs if they are covered, but I don't want to ring them up demanding they fix things if I have no rights.
We had no documentation that mentions this warranty on completion. We have the NHBC stuff that has another 8 1/2 years. I know NHBC only covers structural issues.
Thanks.

Within NHBC guarantee, things like heating systems are covered for the first two years with the remaining eight years covering the build quality issues alone.
The guarantee is passed on to a new buyer when the property changes hands.

Wont go into all the list but:
Some roof tiles are cracked. When you go into the loft you can see daylight shining through the tiles.
The cooker hood went up with a bang. Had an electrician test it and said the internal motor has gone.
Roof tiles over the garage have some far shorter than the others.
Bathroom toilet kept blocking. Upon inspection the sink waste pipe that connected to the soil pipe was rammed all the way through the soil pipe. Things were stacking up on top of it. Removed the pipe and cut it down to correct size.0 -
We moved into a second-hand but quite recently built house (back in 1999) built by Bryant Homes. They were very accommodating about coming back to fix a few snagging items even though we weren't the original purchasers. So it can't hurt to ask them - especially if they are still building other houses on the estate.0
