It is confusing because on the DHL website you have to click "next day" delivery to track your parcel but Currys are just saying delivery by Christmas Eve which gives them up to 6 days to deliver from the Monday noon deadline. So even when it's with DHL you might not get it "next day".
Confused - you soon will be :rotfl:0 -
Curry's suck bigtime! I was after a plasma - and on the Dixons site it was 1049. I rang Dixons and they said that they can deliver - but why not go to a Curry's as they will price match the Dixons site (since they are all one happy family). So I go to Curry's - wouldn;t budge a penny - online 1049 (less 60 with code) in store 1300 - so I went to Richer sounds instead who happily price matched the lowest online pricePlay up Pompey!0

I found the same problem with a 19" monitor which was £129 on PC World and £149 on Currys. They refused to price-match (something about dont have to on internet prices even if the are the same company!), and as PC World didnt have any discount codes, I didnt want to use them. I eventually got a better spec one from Dabs.com for £117.0

Well I was singing Currys praises and I should have known if I did that something would go wrong !
Placed 2 orders Monday before the deadline for Christmas delivery. All paid for, processed, sent to DHL but whilst one parcel is "out for delivery" the other has the status of "Milton Keynes - UNDELIVERED - PLEASE CONTACT CUSTOMER SERVICES".
Before I do this do people know is Milton Keynes a Currys centre or a DHL centre ?
The daft thing is the 2 items now sold out on Currys website are in the parcel "out for delivery" whilst the 2 items still in stock on their website are in the "undelivered" parcel.
Sorry to rant on but anyone else have a parcel stuck at Milton Keynes ?0 -
Hi, sorry to hear of your problem - I was moaning but actually have my item noow, collected myself from DHL depot in Brentwood. I believe Milton Keynes is a DHL depot, you may be able to find a 'non 0870' number either via Google or the 'say no to 0870' website - now I would say you definitely have reason to call the web sales customer service department and ask them to authorise a store collection under the circumstances - good luck, hope you manage to sort out the problem.THE LONDONERS0

I asked DHL about this - they told me as soon as the item arrives at DHL they operate a next day delivery system, this is why 'delivery instruction issued (or received)' does not mean the item is physically with DHL - as soon as they receive it, they WILL deliver next day, they assured me this is how they worlk, the allowing 5 working days is really about Currys getting the item to DHL it seems (processing and picking the order etc). However, Milton Keynes is just the first stop for most parcels, from there, my package was sent to Hatfield and finally brentwood, from where it would have been delivered had I not opted to collect it myself.THE LONDONERS0 -
Hi There The Londoners
What a carry on between DHL and Currys.
I got my second parcel delivered today - superb service seeing as I ordered Monday and they give a 5 day "timeframe".
However that third parcel has left me stumped. It was ordered 30 minutes after the second and went to Milton Keynes (like the second) but then got the status UNDELIVERED - Please contact Customer Services. Got through to DHL after ages who told me no parcel existed and to go back to the seller. Got through to Currys who said it was "undelivered" and was placed on hold for 20 minutes (ignored) and then I decided to give up and see what came out in the wash.
Well now it is suddenly at Hatfield so I am putting it down to their "systems" playing up. My first two parcels from Hatfield status have been delivered next day - let's hope they can make it a treble ! :T
So all in all a few glitches with my orders at Currys but I am confident the third parcel will be with me Friday and then it will all be over for another year....or at least until the sales.:T
I am glad you got your items by the way :j0 -
Good evening BargainMad, I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get your 3rd item delivered tomorrow! At least DHL seem to be efficient once they acknowledge they have the item - I found the phone number for my actual depot and called first thing - managed to get through first time and they were very helpful - by the time I collected at 3pm there was only one poor lady in the office - everyone else had gone to Christmas parties - I think that's probably half the problem at the moment! At least Curry's didn't use Parcelforce about whom my comments are best kept to myself, but lets just say they aren't complimentary!
Happy Christmas, hope you enjoy your purchases!THE LONDONERS0 -
Any online discount codes would be gratefully received
Thanks:D0 -
If the item you want is also at Dixons (same parent company) check out the Dixons codes that work today and Sunday.
For some reason Currys aren't doing these codes but if you can get the same stuff for the same price from the Dixons website rather than Currys and you meet the spending thresholds you might as well.
codes at Dixons are:
Dixons.co.uk Sale starts CHRISTMAS EVE
These codes are ONLY valid for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
** TWO DAYS ONLY **
£40.00 Discount when spending over £500 - use code XMAS0640
£20.00 Discount when spending over £250 - use code XMAS0620
From Boxing Day above codes are expired but are replaced by a free delivery code for purchases over £199 - AFD199 - expires 07/01
If you have to get your item from currys these codes should work:
5% off TEACH5PCT
and SALEFREEDEL for free delivery over £2490
