renting and deposit back question

Options
right ladies and gentlemen, my turn to try and get the most of my deposit back after checking out.
Been living in that place for more than 4 years. In my opinion it stil looked good when I left( many of the houses for let I seen looked far worse to me before tenants than mine after) but not immaculate. When I started tenancy it was freshly done so was spotless. Now there are marks from wiping off mould, carpet worn and stained in high transit areas, paint cracking, pen drawn on a couple of radiators, dusty skirtboards etc.
Question is - how often is a standart house small repair/recarpeting/repaint is supposed to be done? I am asking because although much of the damage ( which is insignificant to my eye, I would happily move into a house if it was in the condition I left that one in) can not strictly speaking be attributed to wear and tear, if that damage would be irreasonable people would never need to repaint their walls!
Hope the last convoluted phrase does make a sense :)

PS. On check out inventory pages with photos do not correspond to the index in the text part so I can not even check half of those statements.
Thank you
The word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.
Often people seem to use this word mistakenly where "quandary" would fit better.

Marks from wiping off mould: that's damage and you should expect to be charged for it

Carpet worn and stained in high transit areas: wear isn't chargeable but stains are.

Paint cracking: not your responsibility unless it's been caused by the damp and mould.

Pen drawn on a couple of radiators: damage and therefore chargeable

Dusty skirting-boards: dirt and that's chargeable, too.

my logic is if the carpets have 5 year lifespan charging me £165 after i lived there for 4 years plus should not be allowed as they shouyld have been expected to change anyway. I will try to argue that minor scaffs/marks/darkening of the grout in a sink is part of wear and tear as no human being would be able to live anywhere without doing those.
