I had a call from the EA of the house we're buying this morning getting rather annoyed with me because our solicitors are dragging everything down.
Every enquiry that has been sent has been replied to and then has been re-asked!
They are now fannying about with something to do with an HMO when it has always been a family home. It's been outstanding for 2/3 weeks now?
We've done everything we have needed to the same day and had hoped to complete by a week ago but we're waiting for our solicitors to pull their finger out. We don't even have a date for exchange yet!
I've launched a formal complaint because of this with our lender who in turn was supposed to phone me back but hasn't. Everytime I call our solicitors it takes about 7 tries because it just rings out and there is no voicemail. None of the emails I've ever sent have been replied to.
I'm getting SO annoyed with everything at the moment, I can't seem to get a straight answer out of these guys and am appalled at the lack of attention to detail or even being able to READ the responses they get.
Sorry, less of a post and more of a rant... we literally could have been exchanged and completed now but everybody is still living out of suitcases and boxes at the moment.

Can you not go to their offices?0

I can only sympathise.
The guy at the top was ready four weeks ago - the people I am buying from where ready three weeks ago - I was ready - and the guy buying mine was waiting for bank communications.
And waiting
and waiting
They came through this morning apparently. Thank goodness. I thought it would never end.
You will get there, keep your patience, it'll work out.0 -

Sadly not, they are based elsewhere in the country. We were assigned them by our lender but they seem to be dragging it out a ridiculous amount at the moment.
The vendors are already in their rented accomodation and everything! No chain, no nothing... our solicitors have said that they've had the responses to the enquiries they sent out but still no movement. I really just want this to be all over. It's really putting strain on my partner and I because we can't seem to do anything or even get anything moving forward and the people we speak to at the solicitors can't give us straight answers nor will let us speak directly to the fricking solicitor. Grrr0
