Praise: HMV Online

Just wanted to praise the very speedy delivery from HMV

Ordered a Wii online from HMV on Friday morning, and chose standard delivery (2-5 days) as I didn't want to have to pay extra for express.

11:30 Saturday morning a man appears at my front door with a parcel - yep, it was the Wii. :T

Nice to have such a good delivery service from a big company. They even gave me a code to track the parcel, but I didn't bother looking at it as I thought there'd be no activity til Monday.

Will definitely be ordering from them again.

im still waiting for my order from friday. only 3 cd's.... all dispatched same day but @ diff times tho... weird.

I think the delivery company should be given at least part of that praise.

My guess is that those 3 CDs are coming from the channel islands, whereas the Wii came from the mainland as it's over the Vat threshold of £18.

yea when they arrived it was from the C.I. Wasnt pleased... its the reason I stopped shopping from Play as delivery is far too long.

Most media retailers are CI based due to the VAT savings on goods under £18, Amazon do ship some from the UK but with super saver delivery they aren't that quick anyway. Base.com ships from Switzerland I believe and my deliveries from them have always been relatively quick in comparison to HMV, etc, their price is good as well on certain items.

There are also plenty of trustworthy, independent media sellers on Amazon Marketplace and eBay offering dispatch from the UK.
