Laptop problem - no web pages showing.

Hi
My brother has a laptop.
He can get it to connect to the internet but unable to view his homepage or any websites.

A message appears:

'Acer empowering technology framework launcher has stopped working'

What does this mean?

It means he has made a terrible terrible mistake and purchased an Acer Laptop :-)

Im not sure exactly but it sounds like a background process - its unlikely to be essential so your best course is probably to disable it.

Go into the startmenu run prompt and type 'msconfig', look at the startup tab and see if you can find a box next to 'Acer eAP launch tool' and untick it.

Reboot the laptop and it wont be running anymore.

or uninstall any crap that doesn't need to be on there. Part of the problem with branded machines is that they install endless amount of gash on there that you don't need and never will need.
