Carpet Fitting Question

We have had a quote from someone to supply and fit a lounge carpet.
We can understand them having to supply 18 sq m for our 15 sq m lounge as the dimensions work that way, what I can't quite understand is the necessity to charge for fitting for the amount of carpet supplied rather than the area of the room. Is this normal?

NEVER heard of that before, we always pay for the size of the room even if there is heaps of carpet left over. You may walk and you may run
You leave your footprints all around the sun
And every time the storm and the soul wars come
You just keep on walking0 -

I'm actually suprised they let you know that they were charging for fitting by the sq yd/mtr rather than just tell you the fitting charge would be £x + £y for underlay and door trims.
You'd have had no issues then?:rotfl:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
We did know they charge £2.50 per sq m for fitting, and have to admit it is not a bad price, and they are the best price for the carpet, and they are a local family run carpet so should not get let down!!What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
