Admin charge on cancelled event

I bought tickets to a convention which has now been cancelled or postphoned to some as yet unconfirmed date next year. The organisers are now charging a 10% admin charge for refunding our money. Does anyone know if this is actually legal?

I can understand the reason behind an admin charge if an individual cancels their own ticket, but when the event itself is cancelled/postphoned I would have thought we were entitled to a full refund.

I would have thought that you would be entitled to a full refund if it was the organisers who cancelled. See the article here on the Which? website:
When you can or can't get a refund on tickets

You're entitled to a full refund of the ticket plus, usually, any additional booking fee or service charges, if the event you have booked for is cancelled, rescheduled or altered – a change of location, for example. If an event is rescheduled to another date, your tickets should be valid. If you can't make the rescheduled date, then you're entitled to a full refund.
The ticket seller is responsible for giving you your refund on tickets to a cancelled event.
