Hi,
I've had to report my credit card lost, will my direct debit be cancelled or will it go out as usual? I ask because it's due to be paid this week and dont want to miss the payment date if they cancel the direct debit along with the card.
Thanks

Although MBNA will cancel the card, the account itself will stay open. When they send a new card they will associate it with the old account and everything should be fine. Just keep an eye on your statements for the next couple of months in case there's a glitch, although this is unlikely.walzingmatilda wrote: »Hi,

In my experience once the card is blocked and a new card ordered, you will be given a new account number (new card number), but the person who you speak to on the phone will alter the direct debit automatically so that everything goes to the correct account. Although, a few weeks ago I realised I was paying money into my "old" Capital One account, but it still went through to my new one!

I had a Capital One card stolen last year. Reported it same day as theft, new card issued within a few days, no need to change direct debit, balance automatically transferred from old number to new and payment went out on the usual day. All went very smoothly - so you can stop worrying.:)walzingmatilda wrote: »I've had to report my credit card lost, will my direct debit be cancelled or will it go out as usual?0
