PPI Confusion!

Hi everyone,
I am in the process of wanting to try and claim back the ppi on 3 credit cards. I am a little unsure if I am eligible to claim or who to contact as the cards were taken out such a long time ago and one has been bought out by other companies. I am on a DMP, and have been for 2 years, the PPI was cancelled when I entered into the DMP on all but one of the cards. I have only realised recently that PPI is still being collected.
The CC I have are:
Halifax Mastercard
£300 balance not inc in DMP but clearing this myself.
PPI on this still, I dont think I was made aware of the PPI as 7 years ago when I took out a Halifax morgage and had to sign some papers in the branch I was advised to switch my current account to them, which seemed a good idea at the time. They also thoughtfully signed me up for a credit card automatically so I think the PPI was auto added by the bank clerk.
Barclaycard Visa
This I think I took out in 2000, possibly via the internet. For the life of me I cant recall anything about the application or if anything was pre-ticked for PPI. I need to request a SAR from them I guess but as BC have been less than co-operative with the DMP I think I may be on a hiding to nothing, especially if it was web application.
Any advise?
Opus Visa
This started life as Assocaites in 1999 (i think), then became CITI and now is Opus. Who would I write to for a SAR and to claim the PPI back. I cant recall it ever being mentioned and I think the card was automatically done by Associates when I used them for a loan way back when.
Im not holding out much hope of any sucess but it would be nice if even a small token amount was refunded and knocked off the debt, im not even bothered about having a refund as cash in my hand but just want to reduce the debts.
Any advise or tips would be most gratefully recieved!!
Kind regards C

You need to complain (not claim as that means something else) to each current provider stating the reasons for your complaint as to why you think it was mis-sold. i.e. tell them what the seller did wrong.
The same applies to all three.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
You shouldn't need to SAR the lenders/card companies, if you're on a DMP for them and still paying Halifax you'll have your card number, all you'll need is your reasons then submit your FOS Consumer Questionnaire. Thanks to all the competition posters.0
