Possible to open a bank account if blacklisted?

I used to have a Halifax account 5 years ago, was sent to a collection agency as I was overdrawn by a grand (student overdraft) and wasn't a student anymore. I have £50k but need a bank to put it into. Could I open another account or because I am blacklisted am I unable to do so?
Cheers,
James.

Blacklisted?
What has happened in the last 5 years?
Where is the £50k at the momant?
They will ;ook at your history and decide what to offer - have you had any financial dealings to give yourself a record to assess? I would have thought you could get abasic bank account but credit might be an issue. I'm guessing you just want to put the money on deposit.
Be prepared to explain whare the money came from because it woud look suspicious.0 -
No such thing as blacklisted. Bad credit though…Can I find out my credit score? You do not have a single credit score or rating. Different organisations take different information into account when working out your credit score and may have different scores for different products. (Kindly from Experian)0
