Free Solar Installation on BTL

Options
I'll shortly be getting another BTL property and am looking at the option of getting free solar panels installed. As well as the obvious green benefits it looks like it could be a good selling point for tenants.

Has anyone had any experience of these and any feedback on what to look out for? I realise that I wouldn't benefit from any of the feed-in-tariffs as they pay for the installation but it seems a win-win on a BTL.

One of the ones I've seen is

but I know there are lots offering it.

I know it would benefit tenant but it seemed that for no cost to me it is a feature that could either make property command slightly higher rent or make void periods much less by the property being more attractive.

The householder only benefits from free electricity in daylight hours,so you need to be savvy and have lots of timer plugs etc if you are not at home during the day.
You could save up to 50%(but probably 30%) off your or in your case the tenants electricity bill.

As a tenant, I would definitely choose a property with solar over one without, even if it was slightly more expensive.

    Good thinking!

I think you'll get a more useful response in the green sub-forum, though.

It's worth £20-£30 a month to a tenant, at zero cost to you - sounds like a plan to me :)
