Perhaps you should describe exactly what happens, or point out where in the following sequence things go wrong for you:

• When you save the file to the desktop (http://www.trendmicro.com/ftp/products/hijackthis/beta/HijackThis.exe), it should appear on the desktop called 'HijackThis'
• When you hold LEFT SHIFT and RIGHT CLICK on Hijackthis on the desktop, then select either 'Run As Administrator' or 'Run As' then (current user), Hijackthis should open.
• When you click 'SCAN', it should do a SCAN, then list a whole bunch of things. The SCAN button down the bottom left should change to 'SAVE LOG'.
• When you click 'SAVE LOG', a log should come up in Notepad, that can be copy/pasted here. Alternatively, it may ask where you wish to save the log, and after you do it should come up in notepad.
