Wedding Dress nightmare!!

Could someone please advise me if poss!!! I have read the standard consumer rights but don't know if this applies to me :0/.. I purchased a wedding dress 3 weeks ago, it was discounted as a sale item as it had been a sample dress so I expected slight marks etc. However I took my dress this weekend to my dress maker to get some minor alterations done. As she was looking at the dress I noticed some marks and lifted the first layer of fabric up to find black mould stains all over the side of the dress, they can't be seen unless you lift the first layer up but this has really upset me and I don't know what to do! I don't want to wear a £400 mouldy dress, but bought it 3 weeks ago.. No alterations have been done. What can I do???? Please please help I get married in less than 3 months. Thanks in anticipation of help

could you have the dress cleaned professionally, that might help to get rid of the marks on it.....
  • I was advised that this wouldn't help..but thanks anyway

Could the bit that's been stained be taken out and a new bit of material sewn in?
It's only a bargain if you need it.
  • No not really it's about a third of the dress :0(, thanks though!!
  • you could try taking it back and see what happens.

Did you check the dress over before you bought it? Where have you stored it at home?
  • It's been in my full length wardrobe, I did check over the top layer and the embroidary but never thought I'd need to check every layer, obviously I should've done. I'm going to ring the shop tomorrow, fingers crossed they will be helpful. Just didn't know where I'd stand with rights etc.
