The Yale model costs about £70 and will call any numbers that you wish. http://www.quicksafe.co.uk/phone-panic-alarm.htm
However you can pay a monthly fee for a monitored system. Never heard of the fire brigade being involved! Why not telephone local council and/or benefits office and enquire if help is available in your area.0 -
I believe AgeUK do one, and possibly the Sovereign Careline operates in her area.
all of the monitored ones have costs, which I think are pretty similar but with slightly varying services. But you need to work out what would work for your mum - we really need a monitored system which will call a local keyholder.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Can you contribute the cost?0

Depends on what is offered.
Most of the 'private' ones just phone a relative, or an ambulance if it's an emergency.
Some of the 'council' ones have mobile workers who will attend, useful if there is no neighbour or relative who can respond promptly.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0
