yes, same ol story with BT engineers visit charge.
I placed an order online for the BT gold package, Line,Broadband&TV.
Previously I had a online chat and also on the phone with their sales to confirm that an engineer would visit and install a new line / socket near my TV. I have a copy of the chat emailed to myself and also saved the online page of my order which reads
No - I want a new line installed at this address
No problem - but installing a new line may incur a connection charge, which will be confirmed in the next steps. The existing phone lines will remain unchanged.
I also spoke with BT customer care an an engineer was booked on 18/4
However BT connected me to an old disconnected line near my loft, a very remote part of my house. No Engineer came and I placed my order solely on the basis of an Engineer installing a new line.
I booked an engineer to correct this and was charged £130 for engineer visit and £75 for an extension.
By the way, they want £10 per transcript for each of the 15-20 calls I made in 2 months. AND the engineer connected my line to an NTL socket.

Hi barry10201
I have just seen you post and would like to look into this for you. It seems strange what has happened when you have advised you were charged for a new socket and this did not happen. If you would like me to look into this please check out my profile were you will get my contact info.
