    Not quite Correct.

The person concerned would need to put down exactly what their expenditure is....if it is lower than what experienced folk reckon it to be, then perhaps it can be added to?

If higher, then.....if it cannot be reduced, there is room for negotiation between the BR and the OR over the matter.

It would be a shame if an estimate was used, but subsequently the BR found they had a good argument for the OR to allow more.....which could have meant the difference between having an IPA agreed...or not?

That may be true, however I am not suggesting my ex goes to her OR with a load of estimated figures, what im trying to do is show her a working example based on her situation of what her finances would be like if she choses to go BR. Currently she is opposed to it has she as read a load of carp on the net and belives big men will come with a van take her every possesion parrade her through the streets while people throw rotten veg at her and leave her with £20 a month to live off.

Hence im trying to show her as accuratly as I can what the real situation mighnt be like if she eventually sees sence. Yes these figures may need altering in the future if she choses this route before they are submitted to the OR but its a starting place, and I thought that was what this forum was for? people whith more knowledge about this than myself to guide me with what may or may not be acceptable? or is this just another forum full of keyboard warriors with a chip on there shoulders???

    Thanks for reading :D

    Thanks

sadly, we will be whatever a reader wants us to be.

why not direct your Ex to this forum, where she can put her own questions, and allay her own fears?

I want you to be helpfull hence the reason I posted asking for advice, people have managed to write several posts criticising my posting of the SOA and its various short falls, but not one person has commented on its content? with regard to my ex's circumstances.

If this just a case of proving figures to your ex, why post it up. It becomes an irrelevant exercise. Without knowing an income figure, the SOA doesn't mean a lot anyway.

By the way, I might be critical of what you write and put up, but going br is a serious matter. I have been through the process and from your comments on other posts you want to go br but don't want to take any responsibility. As put it trying to raise your figures so as not to pay an IPA, or in the case of your ex, reducing her hours. If you do decide to go br take it like a man and if you get an IPA, so what at least you will feel that you are paying something towards that debt you have had taken from you.

If you look her income is there???

Sorry for wasting your time, please feel free to go for a walk its a nice sunny day, why waste it inside on the net.

OK, here goes.......given that your Ex might be insolvent , she needs to contact one of the Debt Advice charities [CAB, etc]...who will go through her options with regards to resolving any debt situation. There may be other options to BR?

    regarding proposed SOA?
Is internet access included [broadband, for example?]

    Clothing seems high......

Also, childcare may be queried , if as you state, you care for them if ex works shifts...? [I have the same situation.....]

The holiday amount is too high and you will be lucky to get £50pm.

School dinners seem really low for 2 kids? Thats £1 per day each. Do they not get free meals? Plus the amount should be included in the housekeeping. The groceries seem AOK - it equates to about £4.75 per person per day but that is based on £400 and not including those school meals.

Does she have a uniform for work? Add in dry cleaning as that has been forgotten about. And the car ins is high - is that the actual amount she spends? Childcare is really low. It looks at that price as if the kids only have one session a month with a minder!! Now, do the tax credits pay for some of the childcare and this is your exs contribution??

However - as mentioned, the SOA needs to reflect her circumstances at the point she goes BR; not for any point in the future. The OR can only deal with the here and now; as future events may not happen! When her circumstances change, she will do this all again with the OR.

High Skylight thanks for the responce, only 1 child is of school age hence the low school dinner amount, and the other goes to a paid nursery but 1 day a week so that needs x 4 however it is included in her t credits claim, not sure what portion of this they pay, car insurance is correct amount, shes a newish driver.

    Thanks

So - the amount of the tax credits you have listed is TC plus childcare? Or just the TC portion of the claim??

Tax credits normally pay around 70% of childcare. You should list the full amount of TC she gets and the whole amount of childcare she pays out for; not just her portion. The OR will see her statements and want to know why she is getting in and paying out more than she is claiming on a SOA for.
