A quote is supposed to be a firm price-an estimate is not. Which was it? If they did a full survey then they should not be trying to hike the price.
Have you checked the small print in the contract to see what is included/what is not?
But what changes to the wiring and piping can cost £800? A boiler simply needs a connection to a ring main-hardly an issue. If however the gas flow is inadequate that is more major work-but they should have established that at the time the survey.
Please give more details about what modifications are required.
Even with the scrappage allowance, you can expect BG to charge around 30-40% more than anyone else-why not go to a proper local independent RGI?No free lunch, and no free laptop0
