Aha, just rang the shop (scaredy old me) and they know exactly what it is, said it happens occassionally and they will give petrol money back for having to take it back in. Result!

Similar problem, but mine is new PC & trying to install legit MS Office 10 which is installeed ok on the old PC, guess only one user allowed

When you say mash keypad, any tips? I tried just sitting listening to the robot going round & round but gave up in the end

I just kept pressing the # key, eventually it will say connecting you to a human.

when you press the # key it's waiting for you to press one of the options, because you don't press one of the option it assumes you don't have a touch tone phone and just puts you through to option 1.. So while you're banging the # key thinking you're bypassing the system, you're actually already in a queue.
